The Painted Foulard unfolds as a study into Albanian folklore, history, and myths through vivid, contemporary iconography. Centered on five women in traditional dress weaving a sunflower, the composition becomes a meditation on female creation, continuity, and shared labor. The piece grew from a conversation between Vitija and Vajzë into a custom painting, which was later transferred onto silk, translating the language of embroidery and storytelling into pigment and fabric – capturing a moment where memory becomes material.
